Things to do at the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine

One park, nine places, eight tickets. The Colosseum is the timed part: your slot fixes the minute you go in and the 75 to 90 minutes you stay. The Roman Forum and the Palatine are on the same ticket with no slot. The Arch of Constantine is free outside the fence, and the Domus Aurea opens Friday to Sunday on its own ticket.

How many days do you need for the Colosseum, the Forum and the Palatine?

One day on the standard ticket: a morning Colosseum slot, then the Forum and the Palatine until mid-afternoon. The Full Experience tickets are valid for two consecutive days, with one entry to the Colosseum and one to the Forum and the Palatine.

What is open on a Monday?

Everything in the park opens on a Monday except the House of Augustus, a SUPER site on the Palatine. The Domus Aurea opens Friday to Sunday only, and the House of Livia is closed for restoration.

Is there anything to see without a ticket?

Yes. The outside of the Colosseum and the Arch of Constantine are open at any hour. The Forum shows from Via dei Fori Imperiali, above the fence. The Tuesday and Thursday night visit goes inside on a €50 ticket.
