Does this private night walk enter the Colosseum or Forum?

Rome Guides' Rome by Night Private Walking Tour includes no entry to the Colosseum or Roman Forum. Every monument on the route is viewed from outside. The Roman Forum is seen from the Capitoline terrace. The Pantheon visit also stays outside.

Should you book the private walk or a Colosseum ticket?

The €18 daytime park ticket opens the first and second tiers, with Forum and Palatine access. The €18 ticket goes on sale 30 days ahead. A Night at the Colosseum costs €50 and goes on sale 7 days ahead.

Meeting point

Itinerary

1. Roman Forum

   The walk passes the Roman Forum from outside while your guide explains the history of Rome.

2. Trajan's Forum

   The route passes Trajan's Forum and Trajan's Column while your private guide explains the emperor's rule.

3. Piazza del Campidoglio

   The walk climbs to Michelangelo's square on the Capitoline Hill, with a view over the Roman Forum.

4. Area Sacra di Largo Argentina

   The route passes the archaeological area at Largo Argentina, where the guide explains the killing of Julius Caesar.

5. Pantheon

   The guide uses the Pantheon exterior to explain Roman engineering and religion. The tour does not go into the Pantheon.

6. Piazza Navona

   Your walk ends at Piazza Navona, where the guide covers the work of Bernini and Borromini.

Cancellation policy

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure. Later cancellations get no refund. Bookings are confirmed at once. Daytime park visits end at 16:30 from 25 October to 28 February; last admission is 15:30. Rome Guides' private walk starts at 20:30 and stays outside the monuments.

Know before you go

• A booking needs at least 2 adults. You can book for up to 15 people.
• Children aged 7 to 17 cost €60; infants aged 0 to 6 cost €0.
• The walk requires moderate fitness for the climb up the Capitoline Hill.
• The tour is not recommended for travellers with spinal injuries.
• Infants and small children may travel in a pushchair. Service animals are allowed.
• Bring your mobile or paper ticket to the meeting point. Hotel transfers and private transport are excluded.
• Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund. Later cancellations receive no refund.
