Does the 8-hour Rome tour include Colosseum and Vatican tickets?

Colosseum and Vatican tickets cost extra on the 8-hour Rome tour. The office can buy tickets for those visits, subject to availability. Pay the entry fees in cash to your guide. If entry tickets sell out, the tour continues with other stops.

What do you pay beyond the driver and guide?

A standard Colosseum ticket costs €18 at the park and opens the first and second tiers. Timed park tickets go on sale 30 days ahead. The €250 tour fare covers a Mercedes vehicle with driver and guide; no entrance fee is included.

Itinerary

1. Vatican Museums 120 min

   Vatican Museums tickets cost extra on TG14 and TG12. The 120-minute stop depends on availability; Sunday routes visit the Catacombs instead.

2. Sistine Chapel 30 min

   The Sistine Chapel stop forms part of the Vatican visit bought separately. Speaking and photography are not allowed inside.

3. St. Peter's Square 10 min

   The city route has a 10-minute stop at St. Peter's Square. Your guide gets out of the vehicle with you.

4. Lunch break 60 min

   TG14 and TG12 have a lunch break from 13:00 to 14:00. The meal costs extra.

5. Colosseum 60 min

   Colosseum entry requires a ticket paid for separately. Without an entry ticket, the base fare covers the exterior only.

6. Piazza del Campidoglio 10 min

   Your guide shows you the Forum from the Capitoline Hill. This stop is a view from outside the park.

7. Roman Forum 10 min

   The base fare covers an outside view of the Roman Forum. Admission is separate from the tour price.

8. Spanish Steps 10 min

   The Spanish Steps stop lasts 10 minutes on the city route. The guide walks with you at the stop.

9. Pantheon 15 min

   The Pantheon stop lasts 15 minutes on the route. Admission costs extra.

10. Trevi Fountain 15 min

    The city route includes 15 minutes at the Trevi Fountain. Your guide gets out with you.

Cancellation policy

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure. Later cancellations get no refund. Bookings are confirmed at once. Sunday routes replace the Vatican Museums with the Catacombs. The Colosseum is closed on 25 December and 1 January.

Know before you go

• For a Colosseum visit, bring the ID that matches the name on your ticket. Entrance fees are separate from the vehicle and guide fare.
• Colosseum entry is tied to the booked slot. Be at the turnstile 15 minutes before that time. Entry at a different time is not possible.
• Bags go through a scanner at the Colosseum. Large bags cannot enter. Glass and sprays are also barred. Wear shoes suited to the walking sections.
• Pushchairs are accepted and infant seats are available. Children aged 1 and over pay €250 on the 8-hour Rome tour. One Mercedes van seats up to 7 guests.
• Cover your knees and shoulders for church and Vatican visits. Groups of more than 4 need earphones inside the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica.
• TG14 and TG12 stop for lunch from 13:00 to 14:00. Lunch costs extra. Entry tickets are paid in cash to your guide; tips are optional.
• From 1 to 24 October, last admission is 17:30 and the park closes at 18:30. An early vehicle departure does not change the Colosseum's 8:30 opening time.
• Cancellation at least 24 hours before departure receives a full refund. Later cancellations receive no refund. When entry tickets sell out, the tour can use other destinations.
